Messi Returns Against Uruguay

Leonel Messi, Argentina and Barcelona captain is going to be included in the team of Lionel Scaloni for future fixtures against Uruguay and Brazil. He had served a ban of 3 months for the comments that he had made during the loss of Argentina to Chile in the play-off match for third place at Copa America. The forward player had accused CONMEBOL, the governing body of being corrupted after he had been sent off and suggested that Brazil is going to receive favorable treatment in their final match that was against Peru in which Canarihna had won 3-1.

URUGUAY TO JOIN THREE COUNTRIES IN 2030 WC BID

The 2030 World Cup is 11 years from now but there have been several moves from different countries in their bid to host the tournament. News from South America suggests that Chile has joined Argentina, Uruguay and Paraguay in a joint bid to host the tournament.

Uruguay, Argentina and Paraguay had earlier announced in 2017 of their plan to host joint bid for the tournament. That resolve has been strengthened as Chile President revealed that he had proposed some few months ago to the presidents of the three aforementioned countries to join their bid which has been accepted.

Ter Stegen labels Luis Suarez as ‘beast’

Barcelona cruised to a 3-0 win over Leganes on Saturday after Marc-Ander Ter Stegen put in another stellar performance in goal. The Germany international made a string of saves for the Catalan giants to pick up a clean sheet which extended the club’s unbeaten run to 17 across all competitions.

Speaking after the game, Ter Stegen was satisfied with the result which has seen Barcelona edge 10 points ahead of their Madrid rivals, who drew 0-0 in the local derby, he said: “We go home happy and satisfied with the result we’ve picked up this afternoon.
