Luis Suarez frustrated after the elimination of Uruguay from Copa America

Luis Suarez, who did not start a game for Uruguay in the Copa America, was left frustrated following the elimination of his team.

Indeed, Uruguay was beaten by Venezuela 1-0 in their match and put them out of the competition. This is the first time since 1997 that Uruguay has been eliminated at the group stage, and this will be hard to swallow for a team that has always proud themselves for the quality of their football.

Luis Suarez, who is currently suffering from a hamstring injury, will feel that he could have helped his team if he was not injured. He was so angry at the elimination of his country that he punched the dugout wall.

The Uruguay’s coach Oscar Tabarez defended his decision for not playing Suarez by saying that the player was not fit. For him, Luis Suarez was not angry because he did not tell him anything. He stated that he cannot put a player that is not 100% fit on the pitch and believed that he took the best decision.

Tabarez believes that the elimination from the Copa America Centenario will serve as a wake-up call for his team especially when it comes to the World Cup qualifiers. He said that his team failed to play their football, and that is what resulted in the elimination. The coach added that this was a difficult Copa America and that it is the first time that he encounters such a competition.

He believes that the Uruguay team can quality for the World Cup, but they need to make changes to the way they play. For him, each player should be prepared to give 100% on the pitch if they want to qualify for the next World Cup.
