This is huge news for the Uruguayan national football team as Luis Suarez is the main star of the national side and the next game of Uruguay is a crucial one as they will be facing off against Brazil in a World Cup qualifier.

Jorge Fossati used to coach the Uruguayan national team from 2004 until 2006 and the veteran manager has recently stated just how important Luis Suarez is for Uruguay as he considers the Barcelona player to be the most influential performer that Uruguay has ever seen in their history.

“I have never seen a player who is as influential in the Uruguayan national team as Luis Suarez, for his own team as well as for the opponents. It was clearly shown in the last World Cup. He didn’t arrive in his best condition. But there was a tournament before the unfortunate reaction of Luis and afterwards, both in terms of performance and results.” Former Uruguay coach Jorge Fossati said as he was talking about the impact that Suarez has had not only in the national team but also with his respective clubs.

Uruguay’s upcoming South American 2018 World Cup qualifier is scheduled to take place on March 25 as they lock horns with Brazil and the head coach of the Uruguayan team will be able to utilize Luis Suarez who has completely served his ban after biting Giorgio Chiellini in the previous World Cup.

Even with the absence of Luis Suarez, Uruguay has still managed to cope well without him as they have claimed victories over: Bolivia, Colombia and Chile, their only defeat so far has been against Ecuador.
