Suarez Inspired By English Media Criticism

The Uruguayan superstar, Luis Suarez, has said that the criticism that he has received in the English media in the recent past and the statements made by the England boss Roy Hodgson about his class as a player inspired him to bring out his ‘A’ game against England at Arena de Sao Paulo the other day.

Suarez, single handedly, won the match for Uruguay that day. He was in the league of his own. He found the net a couple of times, once in each half, and almost knocked the Three Lions out of the tournament.

It was Suarez’s comeback game after the operation that he had gone through a few weeks ago. He had not featured for Uruguay in their first game in this World Cup against Costa Rica.

He was not certain to play against England either. The Uruguayan boss, Oscar Tabarez, had even said that he would be gambling if he decides to start with Suarez in the match against the Three Lions.

It was a general feeling that the Liverpool forward would be a bit rusty returning to action against England, but, it wasn’t to be. Suarez found his rhythm straightaway and gave a strong answer to all his critics all over the world.

Talking to the reporters at the end of the game against England, Suarez said, “I have taken a lot of hammering from the English press of late. I would like to know what their opinion is at this point of time. This is certainly dream-come-true for me.”

However, Suarez’s job for Uruguay in the ongoing World Cup is far from being finished. He needs to ensure that he remains at his best against Italy too and guides his team to the knock out round.
